Want Vs Need

"Sometimes we get what we want, but not necessarily what we need"
Need is something you have to have, something you can't do without. Want is something you would like to have. It is not absolutely necessary, but it would be a good thing to have. Need most of the time is a result of necessities in life. Want most of the time attributes to greed. There are simple questions which when answered honestly can determine that what we want is our need or not?
  • Can I live without it?
  • Will it make a big difference in my life if I do have it?
  • Will my life end if I go without it?
  • Will it matter to others if I have it?
  • Can I replace it with something else?
But most of the time we are too emotionally bound to our want making it a false need. False needs are real pain because we unnecessarily pursue them. But there are situations in life when our want becomes a need and that situation is triggered by convincing ourself that a want is a need.

Why do we have to question ourselves to find out whether what we want matters to someone else?? Any guess?

It would matter to that SOMEONE if he is connected to what u want.
It is true that sometimes your WANT becomes a NEED.
It is because you need something to drive you.
Need is a must no doubt.
But WANT is something which if you don't get, you might do anything to get it AND it that point in time becomes more important that your NEED.
